The Earth Lover's Paradox

Every Earth lover you speak to will tell you about the peace they feel in nature. Science agrees— showing that time outdoors reduces stress, restores clarity, and enhances wellbeing.

But many will also admit: this peace is fleeting. They often feel overwhelmed by life, heartbroken by the world, and ashamed of the legacy we’re leaving behind. They are living through a time of escalating ecological grief, moral exhaustion, and spiritual disorientation.

I call this the Earth lovers’ paradox. It’s a confusing, depleting experience. And it’s concerning—because not only do these states interfere with our wellbeing, they interfere with our ability to create a life and a world that is aligned with the natural world. This depletion ripples outward into our relationships, our communities, our work, and into the way we show up for the Earth.

Numerous studies show — as you might imagine — that emotional states like environmental grief, fear, burnout, and despair diminish our capacity to take courageous, creative, and coherent action — the kind of action needed to bring about the future of our wildest dreams.

So the urgent, timely question becomes:
how might you encourage the vibrant peaceful presence you find
on the trails, by the sea, and under the moon to flow every part of your life?

Addressing this question is the singular focus of this program.

Everything starts to look different, feel different. I didn't expect that.  After the first two lessons, I called my friend and I said, you HAVE to take this class.

Tessa

It’s helped me become more calm, clear and confident. It’s also helping me to strengthen my decision-making & my intuition.

Reshma

I feel like I’m never alone, even if I'm the only person around - that is a huge gift.  The practice has also helped me find beauty.

Peace isn't something that happens when everything gets resolved.
Peace can extend continuously from the core of your being.

Right now, you might be feeling like peace is something you have to chase, or wait an eternity for—something you might get in brief moments, but can’t seem to hold onto.

The reality? Overwhelm is costly. It drains your energy, affects your relationships, and keeps you from showing up fully in the ways that matter to you.

If you don’t shift your relationship to your wellbeing now, life won’t magically take care of itself. The stress, the news cycles, the overstimulation, and exhaustion will keep chipping away at it, making it harder and harder for you to safeguard your inner peace.

But there is another path. A path where peace is not just something you pray for—but something you live, breathe, and embody. A path where you feel grounded, present, and at ease, even in life’s inevitable turbulence.

That is what the Nature Practice method is here to offer.

You've been feeling overwhelmed, overcommitted & overstimulated for too long.

You love to spend time in nature.

You might have tried yoga, meditation, forest bathing, journaling and gratitude practice.

You try to eat well and take care of yourself.

You do enjoy moments of peace – of course –
but you're still struggling to experience a life that is mostly calm.

As an Earth Lover, it turns out that the answer to living a life that is mostly peaceful can be found in a slight shift to your wellbeing routine.

A shift that allows for a more powerful state of nature-centered peace to emerge.

I call this shift nature practice.

Nature practice is:

  • An intentional, active way of engaging with the Earth to cultivate inner peace and presence.
  • A deepening of a relationship of mutual care.
  • Not just about spending time in nature, but about entering into a more subtle reciprocity with the Earth.
  • Learning to receive and respond to her rhythms and her wisdom with greater respect and reverence.

And you can do it in 25 minutes, or less, no matter where you are.

Have we met?

Hi, I’m Natasha Deganello Giraudie.

Nature will be our mentor, our teacher.  I’m happy to be your guide.

I am a child of the Caribbean, the rainforest, and the tepuyes of Venezuela. I raised my daughter among the Redwoods and the Pacific Ocean of Northern California.

As an expecting mother, with access to heightened sensations, I was shocked to realize the amount of overwhelm and exhaustion that I had accepted as normal.  I was horrified to imagine that this would become the soundtrack of my baby’s life. I wanted our life to feel like an invigorating, peaceful retreat, with brief moments of pressure release—rather than the other way around.

Looking for cues, both personally and through my work as a documentary filmmaker, I began to retrace and expand upon three beloved threads of my life:

🌿 Himalayan traditions from two decades of study with the Dalai Lama and nature retreats with Thich Nhat Hanh.

🌿 Indigenous wisdom from a lifetime of learning with elders and wisdom keepersfrom the Pemon and Warao of Venezuela, to the Winnemem Wintu of California, among many others.

🌿 Spiritual ecology through immersion in the insights of naturalists like Jane Goodall, David Abram, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Sylvia Earle and Janine Benyus.

Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of Earth lovers—from all corners of the world, across different heritages and spiritual traditions. I have also taught a class on this at Stanford University and led workshops for the United Nations, the Dalai Lama Fellows, Yosemite’s NatureBridge, One World Ayurveda in Bali, and others.

I look forward to getting to know you and helping you share your natural peace with the world.

Through Nature Practice, it's as if I gained access to another layer of myself.  A part of myself that's quieter and more grounded.  Connected to an ancient wisdom.

What if peace wasn’t just fleeting — but your way of being?

Imagine waking up with a warm-hearted sensation—a knowing of the preciousness of this moment. To be able to experience another day of vibrant, aligned peace—not just on rare occasions, but as your
default state.

Imagine no longer feeling like stress and your aching heart are running your life. Instead, you move through your days with a sense of grounded presence, of knowing how to return to peace whenever you need to.

🐚 You no longer get thrown off course by what’s going on around you.

🐚 You know how to reconnect to yourself, your community, and the Earth.

🐚 You understand how to restore your energy instead of constantly letting it drain.

🐚 Your peace is carried in your thoughts, your words, and your actions.

🐚 You are showing up for peace—consciously and courageously.

This isn’t just an idea—it’s exactly what members of this Nature Practice community are experiencing.

And it’s possible for you, too.

Inspired by a tiny colibrí.

The hummingbird taught me a profound truth: I didn’t have to leave my life behind to access my peaceful, grounded presence.  I didn't have to move to the forest or become a monk.

I could simply open my door and take regular, soul-satisfying sips of nature—right where I am.

That’s why the Nature Practice method is designed to fit into real life—just 25 minutes or less per day to nurture deep, lasting peace.
