This method changed my life.
As a new mother, I gained heightened sensitivity to the overwhelm that was normalized around me, and now, my baby. I refused to accept that profound peace was to be relegated to the occasional meditation retreat. So, I went on a transformative journey to fill our everyday life with nature-infused calm.
My journey wove together three cherished threads of my life: the wisdom of Indigenous elders I’ve learned from since childhood; over 20 years of study with the Dalai Lama and nature retreats with Thich Nhat Hanh; and my experience as a filmmaker on projects that celebrate our connection to the divine in nature.
As my access to my peaceful grounded presence grew, I was able to:
- Feel a whole lot better.
- Become the mother I always dreamed of being.
- Repair and deepen precious relationships.
- Build meaningful community.
- Align my work with my purpose.
- Strengthen my intuition.
- Express myself more fully.
- Show up for the Earth in more significant ways.
This was the birth of the Calm by Nature method, a practice I've since taught as a class at Stanford University, and shared in workshops and retreats for the United Nations, the Dalai Lama Fellows and guided hundreds of Earth Lovers around the world through.
